CAP Missions: Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, Cadet Programs.

Practical Information:

Promotion Boards: Are You Up For Promotion? Have you met all the requirements? Then email your cadet staff chain of command no later than the Friday before next Promotion Board with the Achievement Name & Number so you are placed on the agenda.

Uniform/Grooming: Check CAP Manual (CAPM) 39-1 for proper uniform wear, placement of insignia, etc., and personal grooming standards. CAPM 39-1 can be downloaded from, under “Forms and Publications” click on “Indexes, Regulations, and Manuals”. It is a LARGE pdf file, 106 pages with lots of images and charts. Or click on the individual chapters to easily locate information.

Females: Your hair must be “above” the bottom edge of the shirt collar in the back. Drooping buns, ponytails, and hair that sticks out wildly do not meet grooming standards. Be sure you carry extra bobby pins, ponytail bands, spray, etc. with you so you can keep your hair neat, tidy, and “UP”. No long dangle earrings or hoops, or color nail polish with the uniform.
